About HARi

HARi refers to my collection of original, hand stitched & sustainable lampshades - made for kids (or fun adults!). My work is playful, and designed to bring a moment of joy to your space. There is just one of each design, and every piece is made by my own hands in my Hampshire based home studio.

In an effort to be as environmentally friendly as possible I use almost entirely second hand, vintage & reclaimed materials - you will find a specific list in each items description.

I take commissions, and I also run a restoration service for old shades in need of some tlc. I love to make your lampshade dreams come true so get in touch with your ideas - the wilder the better!

Why HARi?

I chose the name Hari for this collection as a nod to my wonderful Son and ultimate muse - Bodhi. Bodhi is a Leo, a Lion. And one of the many associations with the word Hari is Lion.

Hari can also be interpreted as a name for someone who is ‘the remover of sins’ (primarily associated with the Hindu God Vishnu, who is known as ‘The preserver of the Universe’) - which ties into my passion for creating a business that is environmentally supportive and contributes in a positive way towards the future of our children’s world.
