Divided into six sections, this piece features a panel of beautiful vintage hand embroidery that I discovered tucked away in a charity shop some time ago. I love finding and incorporating pieces like this, and always wonder who’s hands once created the work.
Sitting alongside this are three appliqued patches made out of a heavy & tactile fabric remnant. Each one is placed under a gathered layer of a soft, opaque chiffon type fabric.
Designer remnants make up the remaining two sections.

Every lampshade I make uses entirely second hand & vintage materials, stitched together by hand - from the threads to the frame. This ensures a high quality finish, good durability, and makes them highly sustainable.
I love to incorporate found pieces with a story to them, using them to weave history, soul & story into each piece I make.

Safety Information: This lampshade has not been treated with fire retardant. No fabric is ever fully fire proof, and careful installation is strongly advised. Please ensure you use a cool LED bulb, and allow at least an inch between the fabric and the bulb. Do not overload any sockets, and do ensure your wiring is up to date and fully safety tested before use.
